On Tuesday 15th October Year 8 took part in a ‘Jaws n Claws’ workshop.
This tied in closely with the Tropical Rainforests topic they have been studying this term, and in particular how animals adapt to their unique environments.
This practical workshop gave pupils the opportunity to handle a range of animals from habitats all over the world. These included Madagascan hissing cockroaches, giant African land snails, slowworms and snakes.
Pupils also had the chance to see up close scorpions, a tarantula and a blue-tongued lizard. Tina the Tenric, Paul the Bullfrog, Bella the Boa were particular favourites, with even Mr Healy getting involved!
