Year 12 investigate the success of the regeneration in Margate

Posted In Academic

Year 12 Geographers visited Margate to conduct fieldwork into whether regeneration has been successful.  Margate is an up-and-coming seaside town experiencing a revival due to the opening of the Turner Contemporary and the newly refurbished Dreamland amusement park.

Pupils interviewed locals, and completed a range of fieldwork techniques. There was time to admire the famous “My Bed” exhibit by Tracy Emin at the Turner Contemporary and eat lunch on the beach before returning to School. I hope that pupils will put into practise what they have learnt when they conduct their own independent investigation next year.
