Year 10 performed their first practical assessments this week in the Drama Studio on Thursday evening.

Fourteen pupils presented their three-minute monologues to parents, pupils and staff; some of whom had never performed in front of a live audience before.

Excerpts from “Look Back In Anger”, “Ballyturk” and “Every Beautiful Thing” entertained the audience and demonstrated the drama pupils ability to engage in qualities of the voice, physicality and gesture.

The class is now moving onto to their second practical assessment, devising theatre. “The class did so well. To be able to perform at assessment standard so early in the course is testament to their dedication to the course.” Mr Alex Bolton Head of Drama, who is marking their work and was impressed with the evening. “If this is what the class can achieve in a solo performance I look forward to their group extracts.
