The Orchard is our dedicated Sixth Formers’ house, accommodating both boarders and day pupils.

We are proud to have recently extended this provision with a fantastic, modern Sixth Form Centre, which incorporates a large space for socialising, complete with a kitchenette and plenty of seating, and also a number of separate study rooms for day pupils.

The Orchard has a large, bright common room at its heart, where Sixth Formers can meet and chat during break times. The modern kitchen adjacent provides facilities to make drinks, and cooking is a favoured pastime.

The House also boasts a TV snug, a laundry available to everyone, and a fitness room which is popular with girls and boys alike.

The aim of the House is to support pupils with their studies, while encouraging them to take responsibility for their learning in preparation for University.

Pupils who have been day pupils in lower Year Groups sometimes choose to board in the SixthForm, as it gives them more time in the evenings to study and staff can be available to speak to ‘out of hours’.

All boarders are allocated their own rooms, each with en-suite facilities. Housemaster Simon Davies lives in The Orchard with his wife Nicola and children Niamh and Toby.
