On Saturday 12th May, the Headmaster’s Secretary, Andrea Discombe (centre) and her daughter Lolly (left) – who is also a Year 11 pupil at Bethany School – took part in the Moonwalk in London. Team Vixen, which included Andrea, Lolly and four other women started their 26.2 mile walk at 11.30pm on Saturday and finished at 11.00am the following day.

Walk the Walk is a grant-making charity that raises money for vital breast cancer causes. Wearing a bra is their unique trademark for men and women which participants can decorate themselves. The walk started and ended on Clapham Common with over 15,000 people walking in aid of breast cancer this year.

Andrea Discombe said: “It was a mixture of feelings when we finished, it felt very emotional and surreal that we had actually done it. Speaking to people along the way was nice and hearing their stories was great. Everyone was so supportive, especially during the last six miles which were the hardest.”

Altogether, Team Vixen raised £10,917.97 for breast cancer – a fantastic achievement.
