Speech Day highlights

Posted In Academic, Creative, General

Our annual Speech Day includes a Leavers’ Breakfast and Chapel Service, a reunion for Old Bethanians and a prize-giving ceremony for pupils who have won awards for their academic and sporting achievements as well as for effort and attainment in particular subject areas.

There were many prizes awarded to deserving winners, but Bethany School would particularly like to highlight five pupils:

  • Freddie Porritt won the Kirkbright Captain’s Cup for leading the First XV rugby team to an unbeaten season
  • Maria Dougan and Thomas Connell won the Maynard Prize for best GCSE results
  • Hamzah Atta was awarded the Anthony Clarke Memorial Trophy for courage
  • Charlotte Noakes (pictured with Eric) was this year’s Eric Adler CARE prize winner for combining narrative and dialogue in a short story, articulating events in conversation between people and focussing on the realisation and conclusion of conflict.

The Bethany Speech Day Programme 2018 is available online.

We offer our warmest congratulations to all pupils who were awarded a prize this year and we wish them well in their future endeavours.
