Gateway to life

The Sixth Form is the gateway to life beyond school, and the choices you make are some of the most important you will face. That’s why at Bethany we want to open doors, not close them. With 25 subjects across a range of disciplines, at Bethany you can choose the subjects you enjoy (Bethany Sixth Form Course Information Booklet).

Choices

A Level curriculum: Art, Craft & Design; Biology; Business Studies; Level 3 Applied General Business; Chemistry; Design & Technology; Drama & Theatre Studies; Economics; English Literature; Level 3 Diploma in Financial Capability; French; Geography; Government & Politics; History; Mathematics; Further Mathematics; Media Studies; Music; Photography; Physics; Religious Studies; Spanish; Sport; Textile Design; EPQ.

Sixth Form at Bethany is about independence, encouragement and success.

You are given the freedom to choose to spend your study periods in our brand new Sixth Form Centre, with its excellent study and leisure facilities, the Library or The Orchard. While studying may be undertaken independently, you are not alone; a close relationship with your tutor will help you to prepare for the exciting future that lies ahead of you. They will encourage you to take on more responsibility and to become a respected senior member of the School, working with adults to support its day-to-day running.

You are able to establish your own identity with a greater choice of what to wear, and you will become responsible for your own time when not in lessons.

At the heart of Sixth Form life is The Orchard and Sixth Form Centre; a focal point offering first-rate facilities for both boarders and day pupils.

The Sixth Form Centre is the hub for both studying and socialising. The large, light open plan common room provides plenty of space for groups to catch-up and unwind with a cup of coffee, while pool and table football allow for friendly competition.

The future is bright

94% of our leavers go on to university, most of them to the course of their choice, and destinations include the most prestigious academic and creative institutions.

Each year, we hold a Sixth Form Open Evening for entry in the following September.  If you would like to come along in November 2018, please contact Ginnie Corbett to be added to our list.

I love the atmosphere around the School. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming and the staff are always very supportive, guiding you through any troubles you have.
