Sean returns to Young Furniture Makers exhibition

Posted In Design & Technology, Sixth Form

Following the success of his GCSE Chess table project, Sean Evelegh (Upper Sixth) was again entered the Young Furniture Makers Exhibition, this time to show his AS Design & Technology practical work.

The Design & Technology department took the added opportunity to take all the Sixth Form A level DT pupils to visit the show. We all hoped for a great deal of inspiration and were certainly impressed with all products on show.

The long day started at 8.30am with our minibus transport up to London. A number of seats had to be removed from the minibus to fit in Sean’s stunning practical piece. The London traffic slowed down our progress but once arrive we all spent time viewing the exhibits on display. All products showed skills and dedication and showed the best of design and practical work in schools and universities.

The day ended at 11 pm after a long but enjoyable time chatting with so many people and many new contacts were made. I must thank Mr Winter who kindly took time out at the end of the school day to come up to London and support Sean, and also Mr Levett for being our taxi service throughout the day.
