Preparing our pupils for university

Posted In Academic

It was deadline day across the nation for 2019 UCAS applicants last Tuesday however with the help of Project Horizon sessions, all of our applications were sent prior to the deadline day rush! Project Horizon offers support for Sixth Form pupils throughout their UCAS journeys through weekly dedicated sessions on a Monday.

Over 40 of our Year 13 pupils have now applied to UK universities to study courses ranging from Law to Biomedical Science, from Fashion to Product Design and much more! We also have Medicine applicants, with some attending mock interviews this week to prepare for the real thing next week.

With many pupils having their applications sent off during the early Autumn term, over half of them have received all five offers already which is a great position to be in. Universities have until the end of March to finalise offers and then pupils have until May 1st to lock in their choices.

Hopefully the Year 13s January mock grades will have given them some targets for improvement to turn those UCAS predicted grades into a reality.
