On Wednesday 23rd January online safety expert, Karl Hopwood, from Esafety Ltd visited the School to deliver a presentation to all Year Groups about being safe online. Karl spoke about the different social media platforms and games that are available to young children and adults, and the effects of too much screentime.
Karl also highlighted that Snapchat and Instagram have terms and conditions whereby they can broadcast, publicly display and sell on any content you post on Live and Local Snapchat meaning they can use your name, voice and face in any way they like for free. Some apps can also access your location and photos from your camera roll.
Pupils learned about the implications of their online reputation and how that could affect future opportunities. They found the presentation useful and engaging and are more aware of how to tackle the problems we face with modern technology.
