Old Poplars ‘Slytherin’ to the Harry Potter studios

Old Poplars took to the road on Sunday 13th May, to visit The Making of Harry Potter at Warner Bros Studios. The tickets had been booked a while ago due to high demand and so all pupils were excited as they set off towards Luton.

The studio itself was fascinating; whether an ardent Harry Potter fan or a novice, there was much to see and do for all. On the tour, we came across breathtaking sets, authentic props and original costumes from the films. The girls went on broomstick rides, took a walk through the enchanted forest – complete with huge spiders – and tasted “butterbeer”!

Many photos were taken, including on the Hogwarts Express, inside the Great Hall, in Diagon Alley and in the actual house in Privet Drive where Harry himself was banished to the ‘cupboard under the stairs.’

The day was rounded off by a trip to Five Guys burger restaurant in Bluewater, where we the group chatted eagerly about their favourite parts of the day. The boarders had a fantastic time and we hope to take another house trip sometime in the future.
