Mr Kevin Sunnucks
I joined the School in March 2018 as a Governor with responsibility for Marketing & Development. I assist the External Relations directorate in promoting the school externally, and contribute to and help set the strategy for the School’s external relations activity, which includes marketing, admissions, fundraising and alumni engagement. Outside the School, I own a marketing agency based in Kent
What is your favourite film?
My favourite film is The Shawshank Redemption. To me, the film demonstrates hope, friendship, luck and life.
What is your favourite quotation and why?
“The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.” – Walt Disney
History has showed us all that the people who have succeeded are the ones that tried, and didn’t say “if only” or “what if?”.
What was your favourite subject at School and why?
I loved history. To this day it fascinates me, particularly the speed of our evolution over the past 150 years.
Why do you like being a Governor at Bethany?
Following an older brother – who was at the top of the academic scale in comparison to me – into secondary education was a challenge. The expectation that I should be on a par with him meant that I probably didn’t enjoy my experience as much as I should have.
Bethany treats every pupil as an individual and inspires them to excel to the best of their individual abilities. The thought that I may assist in any way with pupils’ experiences being more positive than my own is why I like being a Governor.
What interests do you have outside Bethany?
I am a keen DIY-er and spend most of my weekends knocking things down or putting things up! My wife is an equestrian eventer, which often means I am up at 5am and off to a competition somewhere.
What is your favourite childhood memory?
My favourite childhood memory is outside playing on rope swings with my friends all summer.
If you were not doing what you are doing now, what would you like to do?
I always dreamed of being a detective when I was younger. If I wasn’t doing what I do now, then I would definitely apply to be a police officer.
