On Thursday 15th November, Mr Duff (Head of Careers) and Mr Hart-Dyke (Head of Sixth Form) teamed up to form an intimidating interview panel for our Y13 pupils who wished to gain some interview practice prior to their forthcoming university interviews.
Interviews can be a nerve-wracking and intimidating process, therefore it was important to us as a School to guide and support our pupils towards this hurdle successfully. Mr Duff and Mr Hart-Dyke were both blown away by the depth of the skills and experiences that our Sixth Formers have attained throughout their schooling life.
Common areas of improvement were body language, eye contact, researching thoroughly into the course/university as well as preparing answers to common questions such as “What are your strengths/weaknesses?”. As per the old adage, ‘if you fail to plan, you plan to fail’ many of our Sixth Formers left the process with this advice in mind and will undoubtedly be more confident in their forthcoming interviews thanks to the process of this ‘mock interview day’. We wish them good luck and every success!
