Thirteen budding historians assembled for a History Master Class on a wet and windy Saturday. The focus was on Bethany history, with the first part of the session devoted to looking at the development of the School in the context of building trends, identifying Victorian, modern and functional aspects to our campus.
The students ended the session in our chapel, preparing for the second half by looking at the war memorial for Old Bethanians. This led to a research task, in which the students were given only the name and year of death of an Old Bethanian. From this, using ICT research tools, they were able to identify the OB’s photo, regiment, cap badge, place of burial and family details, as well as finding out which battle he was fighting in when he died. All in all, a fantastic morning’s work!
