On Wednesday 27th June, Bethany welcomed over 100 grandparents and family members to the School for a Chapel service, lunch and the opportunity to watch the dress rehearsal for our Junior Production of The Wizard of Oz or a cricket match. Many guests commented on what a lovely day it was and how nice it was to sit outside in the sunshine and watch some cricket.
Pupils in Years 7, 8 and 9 were asked if they would like to invite their grandparents to join them for the day, and many took the opportunity to show their guests around the School. One visitor commented: “It was a great success with swarms of proud grandparents filling the chapel and touring the grounds. The welcome was as warm as the weather, the Chapel service very fitting and the lunch highly enjoyable”.
Headmaster, Francie Healy, said: “This was our first ever Grandparents’ Day and it was an overwhelming success. Some of our pupils’ grandparents may not have had the opportunity to visit Bethany previously, so we were delighted to welcome them to come along and see where their grandchildren learn, and for us to say thank you for the part that they all play in supporting our pupils. I hope this will be the first of many such events.”
