What did you do before you came to Bethany?
I spent four years at the University of Reading studying for a Masters in Mathematics. During my final year and since I have taught at about half a dozen primary and secondary schools The most rewarding place I worked before Bethany was at a primary school in Reading, helping Year 6 pupils get their level 6 grade in maths.
What is your favourite novel/music/artist/film and why?
My all-time favourite book is Gone With the Wind, but my favourite author is Brandon Sanderson. His writing is incredibly creative and he can weave fantasy words that feel real to the reader.
What is your favourite quotation?
“If people do not believe that mathematics is simple, it is only because they do not realise how complicated life is.” – John von Neumann.
What was your favourite subject at school and why?
Why do you like working at Bethany?
My favourite part of Bethany is that my job doesn’t start and finish in the classroom. There is so much more to be involved in, especially with the boarding side of school life.
What interests do you have outside Bethany?
I spend a lot of my time reading during the holidays.
What is your favourite colour and why?
Blue – there’s a shade for every occasion!
If you were not doing what you are doing now, what would you like to do?
I can’t imagine wanting to do anything else right now!
