What do you do at Bethany?
Care for the medical needs of the pupils at Bethany.
What did you do before you came to Bethany?
I was a Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist in Stoma Care.
What is your favourite music?
Kings of Leon, or Pearl Jam I have seen them both live several times and had the Pearl Jam song Yellow Leadbetter played at my wedding.
What is your favourite quotation and why?
I have two favourites: Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them humanity will not survive. – Dalai Lama; and, If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours. – Dolly Parton. I remember hearing this at a school assembly when I must have been about eight, and it has stuck with me ever since.
What was your favourite subject at school and why?
Theatre Studies, I belonged to a dance and drama group whilst growing up and in this area I always excelled.
Why do you like working at Bethany?
There is truly an air of serenity about the place. The staff and pupils are all extremely approachable and content.
What interests do you have outside Bethany?
My three young children! Also I sing and have performed with different bands/duos.
What is your favourite childhood memory?
“Wednesday Walks.” We lived 5 minutes from the beach and every Wednesday after dinner our parents would take my brother, sister and I down to explore the rock pools and have pretend adventures.
What is your favourite colour and why?
Green, because I associate it with nature.
If you were not doing what you are doing now, what would you like to do?
I would be the lead singer in a band.
