Date you joined the School.
September 2007 as a parent; October 2010 as a Governor.

What do you do at Bethany?
I am a School Governor and a member of the Education Committee.

What did you do before you became involved with Bethany or what do you do outside of Bethany?
I am a solicitor advocate and partner in a boutique intellectual property law firm in London. I was previously a partner in a large international law firm and then had a period of seven years as a barrister.

What was your favourite subject at school and why?
Chemistry. I enjoyed the colours and smells of the experiments, particularly when they went wrong!

Why do you like being a Governor at Bethany?
It is very different from my ‘day job’ and it brings me into contact with an extremely talented group of staff and Governors who work together to make Bethany a great place to go to school.

What interests do you have outside Bethany?
I sing in a choir, climb the odd mountain, drink the occasional glass of wine, and love to chat.

Who is your hero/heroine and why?
A nun called Sister Patricia Milner, who inspired me to work hard at school when I was 10. Her saying when we got stuck was “two cabbage heads are better than one”. She taught me the benefit of working with others when you have a difficult problem to solve.

If you were not doing what you are doing now, what would you like to do?
See interests above: singer, mountain climber, wine taster, talker.
