Mrs Ann Hurst, Learning Support Assistant
Date you joined the School
What do you do at Bethany?
Provide interventions to assist with pupils’ additional needs.
What did you do before you came to Bethany?
Learning Support at Homewood Secondary School in Tenterden and previously at Sutton Valence Primary School. Before having a family, I was a Securities Accountant in the City.
What is your favourite novel/music/artist/film and why?
I have quite an eclectic taste and enjoy a wide variety of novels, films and music, from the classics to modern day, depending on mood. My favourite artist is Monet, as I find his paintings soothing.
What is your favourite quotation and why?
I have two: To thine own self be true and I am a part of all that I have met. I feel that we can always learn from everyone we meet and that one should always be themselves instead of the image we perceive is expected of us.
What was your favourite subject at School and why?
Mathematics. It’s either right or wrong and not left to interpretation.
What interests do you have outside Bethany?
I love reading, swimming and walking our family dog. I have also recently taken up Ballroom and Latin American dance lessons.
What is your favourite childhood memory?
Being at the seaside with my family.
What is your favourite colour and why?
Red, it’s such a vibrant happy colour.
If you were not doing what you are doing now, what would you like to do?
Visit the elderly who have few friends or relations. Their experiences of life can be so interesting and they often get forgotten in the rush of our society today.
