What do you do at Bethany?
Housemaster Pengelly House, PE & Games teacher, Master I/C Rugby.
What did you do before you came to Bethany?
In my most recent post I worked for 15 years at a state grammar school.
What is your favourite quotation and why?
There is a tide in the affairs of men.
Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune;
Omitted, all the voyage of their life
Is bound in shallows and in miseries. (Julius Caesar)
For me this is a quote about seizing your opportunities and having no regrets.
What was your favourite subject at School and why?
Physical Education. I have always been interested in sport I particularly enjoy the team work and competitive nature of the subject.
Why do you like working at Bethany?
I really enjoy the interaction with the pupils, the location of the school and being part of a boarding community.
What is your favourite School memory?
Having some truly inspirational teachers; particularly Mrs Humphries (RE) and Mr Skinner (English).
Who is your hero and why?
Martin Johnson who is an incredible rugby player and the best Captain England have ever had.
If you were not doing what you are doing now, what would you like to do?
Owning a bar on the beach on my favourite Greek island of Kefalonia. This bar will have the best cocktails, sky sports and live music every weekend.
