Mr Francie Healy BSc HDipEd NPQH, Headmaster
Date you joined the School
September 1989.
What do you do at Bethany?
I am Headmaster and thus lead the School.
Other responsibilities?
Ultimately, I have responsibility for everything.
What did you do before you came to Bethany?
I taught Maths and ICT in a school in Dublin, Ireland.
What is your favourite quotation and why?
“It is nice to be important but it is more important to be nice.” I am a great believer in good manners.
Why do you like working at Bethany?
Bethany is like my home. We deliver an all-round education which is exactly what every child needs. We challenge their strengths and support and enable the development of their weaker areas.
What interests do you have outside Bethany?
I like reading, usually biographies, walking and am a great fan of Manchester United.
What is your favourite School memory?
Getting 99.5% in a Spanish exam and asking the teacher where I lost marks. This quickly went around the school and I became a “celebrity” for a day!
Who is your hero and why?
The English classical singer Russell Watson. He is a wonderful singer who overcame serious illness and is now a stronger person because of it.
