Miss Amy Dalley, Art Technician and Trainee in Art
Date you joined the School:
What do you do at Bethany?
I am the Art Technician and Trainee Art Teacher.
What did you do before you came to Bethany?
After graduating from studying BA (Hons) Fashion Design, I went on to work as a Graduate Designer for a Gift and Homeware Company, working towards industry briefs.
What is your favourite novel/music/artist/film and why?
You can either love or hate them but I love Coldplay. I have seen them live twice now and the creativity and colours they bring to the staging and the costumers are just incredible. They have a song for every emotion.
What is your favourite quotation and why?
“I only hope that we don’t lose sight of the one thing – that is was all started by a mouse.” – Walt Disney. This quote highlights not to lose sight of where you have come from and that determination and imagination can lead to a whole new world, literally.
What was your favourite subject at school and why?
I loved Art and English, they both let my imagination run wild.
Why do you like working at Bethany?
Bethany is located in such a beautiful part of the country and has a great community and family feel to it.
What interests do you have outside Bethany?
I tend to spend my free time visiting art galleries and pop up exhibitions or wandering around National Trust parks. I try to keep active by going to the gym and running. I am also a very keen painter and textiles designer.
What is your favourite childhood memory?
One of my favourite childhood memories has to be spending most Christmas holidays at Center Parcs with my family. I loved being surrounded by nature and all the Christmas lights. Every day contained a different activity, I especially loved playing badminton! The sweet shop was also amazing.
What is your favourite colour and why?
Baby pink. It always has been and never seems to change.
If you were not doing what you are doing now, what would you like to do?
I would move to New York and live a life of leisure, running a small homeware business selling my paintings and designs so that I wouldn’t get too bored.
