Leah Bullock, Music Trainee Teacher
Date you joined the School:
What do you do at Bethany?
My role at Bethany is to assist the Music department as well as run all things vocal!
What did you do before you came to Bethany?
Before joining Bethany, I completed my BA Hons degree in Popular Music and then worked as a vocalist and entertainments team member at a holiday park.
What is your favourite novel/music/artist/film and why?
My music taste is very varied due to years of being exposed to different genres, but I love soul music because of the sheer passion and crazy vocals of many performers! My favourite film is ‘Dirty Dancing’ as I love the storyline and to this day I can’t watch it without crying.
What is your favourite quotation and why?
“Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.” ― Oscar Wilde. This is a brilliant quote showing that individuality is a great thing because there’s only one you.
What was your favourite subject at school and why?
I loved English at school due to having a great teacher and learning invaluable lessons that have stood me in good stead throughout adult life.
Why do you like working at Bethany?
I love the sense of community here and no question or query is too much meaning you feel supported always.
What interests do you have outside Bethany?
Outside Bethany my biggest passion is still singing. I have been in many bands and continue to sing as much as I can outside of work. As well as this I’m a keen swimmer and a massive shopaholic!
What is your favourite childhood memory?
This has got to be me singing ‘twinkle twinkle little star’ dressed up as a star in my nursery nativity. No one else would sing in front of the parents apart from myself so that was my first debut!
What is your favourite colour and why?
Today it is beige, due to some lovely beige joggers I’ve bought which I love.
If you were not doing what you are doing now, what would you like to do?
Sell millions of records and have people sing my own songs back to me.
