Bethany’s gardening club take gold at Wisley

Posted In Creative

This week we celebrate the success of the Acorn Gardening Club after they won the most innovative award in the “Green Plan It” competition at RHS Wisley. With the help of Robert Philbin, Head of Biology and Magaret Fillery, Lab Technician, our gardening club spent the past 10 weeks researching potential garden sites, performing soil analysis, creating a model design and preparing a presentation for the judges.

The judges were highly impressed with their design, noting how technology was intelligently incorporated into the garden space. They were won over by how confidently our pupils presented their ideas and were struck by the considerate way they spoke of each other’s contributions to the design. We are absolutely thrilled to have won an award and owe everything to the dedication shown by our pupils.

We now look forward to entering the Budding Gardeners competition, starting in January.
