Friends of Bethany
As parents there is nothing more rewarding than seeing our children succeed.
All of us FOBS (Friends of Bethany School) members are parents or carers who have watched our children thrive in the happy, nurturing environment of Bethany School. Some of us have just begun the journey, some of us have children who are now at university but we enjoy being part of Bethany so much that we continue to volunteer to support the school with social events and fund raising.
We are always looking for new members. Anyone associated with Bethany, past or present, is welcome to join us regardless of how much time you are able to give to us – every little helps. If you think you like to come along to one of our meetings or to help out at all please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org. We’d love to meet you!
Along with funds from the 150 Club – a regular prize draw which is open for all parents to enter – FOBS raises money to help buy little extras for the School and, of course, the pupils. Recently, we’ve contributed to the cost of the High Ropes Course, and bought a camcorder for the Drama and Sports departments, table tennis tables, picnic benches and equipment for children undertaking the Duke of Edinburgh youth achievement award. Our latest purchase was the sound system in the Function Suite and next we plan to help refurbish the library.
FOBS 150 Club is a great way to support our fund-raising whilst having the chance of winning a prize for yourself! The 150 Club is our own lottery which is drawn twice a year at Speech Day and Quiz Night. The prize money totals 50% of the 150 Club membership fees per year so the more members, the higher the prize money. The remaining 50% will go to the school to help fund equipment, resources and opportunities for pupils.
One number in the FOBS 150 Club costs £2.00 per month (£24.00 annually). You can buy more than one number, but no more than five numbers. Payment can be made by standing order, direct debit or cheque (one payment annually for the number of units purchased on the 1st January each year, starting 1st January 2020).
