As parents there is nothing more rewarding than seeing our children succeed.

All of us FOBS (Friends of Bethany School) members are parents or carers who have watched our children thrive in the happy, nurturing environment of Bethany School. Some of us have just begun the journey, some of us have children who are now at university but we enjoy being part of Bethany so much that we continue to volunteer to support the school with social events and fund raising.

We are always looking for new members. Anyone associated with Bethany, past or present, is welcome to join us regardless of how much time you are able to give to us – every little helps.  If you think you like to come along to one of our meetings or to help out at all please contact us on  We’d love to meet you!

Along with funds from the 150 Club – a regular prize draw which is open for all parents to enter – FOBS raises money to help buy little extras for the School and, of course, the pupils. Recently, we’ve contributed to the cost of the High Ropes Course, and bought a camcorder for the Drama and Sports departments, table tennis tables, picnic benches and equipment for children undertaking the Duke of Edinburgh youth achievement award. Our latest purchase was the sound system in the Function Suite and next we plan to help refurbish the library.

We also arrange a programme of regular social events for parents, that have included Murder Mystery night, Outdoor Movie night and our very popular Fish and Quiz evening, featuring copious amounts of wine and competitive spirit!

We also work with the school to promote the school and provide refreshments at events such as The Anthony Clarke Memorial Rugby Match and Speech Day.  We also promote the use of TheGivingMachine, whereby money is raised – without spending a penny – simply by clicking on a website to make purchases.
