Computer Science heads to Silicon Valley

Posted In Academic

Mr Hamilton is delighted to announce that Computer Science will be jetting to San Francisco from Sunday 28th October to Friday 2nd November to experience first-hand the technological capital of the world, Silicon Valley in California, USA. The trip will be for pupils in Years 10 to 13 for the next academic year (2018–2019) who will be taking Computer Science, Business Studies or the wider STEM subjects at GCSE or A Level.

There will be opportunities to visit leading technology companies, universities, museums and cultural visits. It will provide a worthwhile and valuable experience that will enrich our pupils study in the subject area, support wider issues around the subject and explore future careers and opportunities that may otherwise be unheard of.

We’d like to introduce the pupils to as many opportunities as possible, and are seeking your help to do this! If you know of anyone in a technical field in San Francisco who would be interesting in imparting some of their knowledge to keen teenagers, please put them in touch with Mr Hamilton at

Don’t forget, you can always catch up with the department on Twitter @Bethany_CompSci, and their brand new Instagram account!
