A Christmas concert cracker

On Wednesday 5th December, pupils from all ages put on stellar performances for our annual Christmas Concert. Held in the Function Suite, the concert was welcome to parents, family and friends for a host of festive favourites and old classics. The show opened with a cover of Bohemian Rhapsody which immediately led into the choir made up of Year 8 pupils who accompanied music scholars to sing Christmas (Baby Please Come Home).

The audience also heard from the likes of David and John who sang an original song written and produced by them. The band ‘Central’ who have performed in front of live audiences at a variety of venues such as The Forum in Tunbridge Wells joined them on stage along with this year’s winner of Bethany’s Got Talent, Erieann Deyner.

Class 8L were able to demonstrate their knowledge of The Blues which they had been learning during their music lessons and Class 7A performed an excellent rendition of Pachelbel’s Canon. An unbelievable amount of organisation went into the evening including an entire Sound & Production Team, choreographers and singing teachers and the Head of Music himself.

Jonny Brinson, said: “I am unbelievably proud of everything our pupils have achieved. These things don’t happen by accident – it takes significant time and commitment to produce the quality of the performances we have seen at this event, and whilst it’s our jobs as teachers to guide them in the right direction, it is ultimately down to the pupil to have the confidence and dedication to perform at an event like this. If you were impressed by this one, just wait until you see what they can do next year!”
