EAL goes international

Looking at the photo below, you might think that this is a normal Year 10 EAL class, working on an assignment and practising their written English skills…

But where are they?

Wendy is in China and Paul is in Germany!

Via Microsoft Teams, the whole class are able to talk to each other, discuss issues with their teacher and ask questions about the tasks set.

The lesson began with pupils correcting an essay previously written on Teams. These essays were then sent to Mrs Rendall-Jones, who corrected the essays, sent them back and then answered questions about the corrections, both from the students in the class and via video link to the pupils online.

The only issue is remembering the time difference. The last time Wendy was called to include her in the lesson she was unavailable, asleep! It was midnight in China.
