Five Bethany pupils took part in the Bebras (Beaver) Computing Challenge and scored within the top 10 per cent of the country.
The Bebras Competition aims to raise aware of Computer Science in a fun and rewarding way. It also involves problem-solving and using computational thinking skills.
Highlights from the challenge included: Luke Urquhart, Year 10, who received a merit certificate in the senior category and Sebastian Smith, Year 9, who was awarded a distinction certificate in the intermediate category.
Sherrick Hamilton, Head of Computer Science, said: “I am delighted by their performance in the second round of the Beaver Computing Challenge. These pupils are already in the top 10 per cent nationally; of note is Sebastian being the highest scorer in Kent, which is remarkable. Well done to all those who took part.”
