On Saturday 21st April, the full boarding community set off in bright sunshine to spend the day at Greenwich. First on the list was a visit to the Maritime Museum, where the overseas boarders particularly enjoyed finding their home countries on the giant nautical map. There followed an ice cream for everyone and an hour in Greenwich Park relaxing in the sunshine with playing football or frisbee.
The group then headed to Greenwich Market for lunch, choosing their own menu options from the fantastic choice of food. Popular were the ramen burgers whilst Head of Science, Mr Thomas, helped a group of Kendon juniors choose a selection of Jamaican dishes.
With bellies full, the group then walked back through the park to the Observatory where they spent a short while in the various Time Galleries, as well as having their photos taken on the Meridian Line. A fantastic day was completed with a show at the newly refurbished Peter Harrison Planetarium, where the boarders were captivated with a tour around our Solar System, choosing to visit Mars and Jupiter close up.
