Anthony Clarke Memorial Rugby Match: the fixture of the year

Posted In Sport

We had our annual Anthony Clarke Memorial Match on Saturday 1st December where Bethany and Tunbridge Wells Rugby Football Club came head to head for the fixture of the year. It was a dark and wet morning but this didn’t stop both teams from playing excellently.

FOBS (Friends of Bethany School) were on hand to provide tea, coffee and bacon sandwiches for the spectators and the game ended 29-12 to Bethany. Man of the Match went to Joe Brinton.

Deputy Head, Steve Winter, said: “The 1st XV played at their very best in the worst of conditions. As they have all season, the 1st XV played the game in the correct spirit playing hard for each other. Defensively this was another excellent performance which supported the key decision makers in putting their mark on the game.”
