An evening of Drama

Posted In Creative, Drama

The stage was set for an exceptional evening of Drama on Tuesday 6th November, where 13 Drama Scholars and high flyers performed their monologues in the Drama Studio. The performances were in preparation for the LAMDA examinations on the Thursday 15th November, providing the candidates with an excellent opportunity to ensure their high-quality performances were polished and at performance standard.

Year 9 pupils Ben and James Caney performed an excerpt from Willie Russell’s Blood Brothers demonstrating superb vocal range and physicality. Drama Scholar Katelyn Malaugh demonstrated her Grade 6 performance from the screenplay The Fault In Our Stars, Sophie Hamill performed two pieces from Vicious Circle and When It Rains Gasoline and Charlotte Ensor – this year’s Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz – performed Confessions of a Shopaholic and After Juliet.

The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art enables pupils to build on their performance skills through one to one tuition with LAMDA teachers Kate West and James Simmonds. LAMDA continues to be a significant influence in the performing arts department and we look forward to the LAMDA exams later this month.
