When did you attend Bethany?

I was at Bethany from September 2004 to June 2009.

What are you doing now?

Right now I am a Project Portfolio Manager at Tessenderlo Group, but I am leaving my job in Phoenix, Arizona to pursue an MBA at Harvard University.

What is your favourite memory of life at Bethany?

Snow days! All the boarders would have huge snowball fights, make a snowman and drink far more hot chocolate than we should in front of family movies.

Did you have a favourite teacher/subject?

Mrs Presland for EFL, Mrs Digby for Maths, Mr Hart Dyke for English, Ms Romero for Spanish… you get the point. I had so many awesome teachers and subjects and I loved it! They were passionate about what they taught and instilled a passion in me for subjects I really used to hate, such as Mathematics; I used to dislike it and then learned to love it so much I took it for A level.

How did your experiences at Bethany help you in your career?

Bethany taught us to be very independent and inquisitive, but caring for those around us. They taught us leadership skills, as well as how to function as part of teams, which is something I have carried through my career.

What advice would you give a Bethany pupil looking to work in the same field as you?

Don’t be scared to put yourself out there, and always keep asking questions. You already have a no – who knows, you might get a yes!

What piece of advice would you give your younger self?

Not to worry so much. I was worried about everything: grades, my family, friends, etc. And that it is good to sometimes just let go.
