At Bethany we view the Sixth Form as a bridge between school days and university life. As well as the challenges of AS and A level courses and competing for university places, students are encouraged to develop their self-confidence to live independent, fulfilling, adult lives. Bethany provides the environment to channel their energy constructively into meeting these challenges.
Bethany's Sixth Form continues to go from strength to strength. It has grown by 50% in the last few years and has now reached its target size of 120 to 130.
We anticipate that most students will study four subjects to AS level in the Lower Sixth, continuing to take three subjects to A2 (please see the Sixth Form Curriculum page for full details). We expect that students entering the Sixth Form at Bethany will have achieved at least four C greade at GCSE level. Our Head of Sixth Form offers advice and guidance to students entering the Sicth Form, both from within Bethany and from outside. As far as possible students may choose any subject from the selection on offer at Bethany. However, timetabling restrictions will inevitably mean that not every subject combination is possible. Guidance on option blocks is issued in the spring term each year.
