Speech Day Tributes to Nick Dorey

Speech Day 2010 took place on Saturday, 19th June.  As ever the day was combined with our Leavers' Day and The Bethanians' Society Reunion Day, but without a doubt the day will be remembered for the overwhelming tributes given to the School's Headmaster, Nick Dorey, who is leaving the School after 13 years at the helm.  Nick is pictured above with Chairman of Governors, Andrew Pengelly who was making one of many presentations to Nick.

To see the whole collection of photos taken during the day please go to www.bluepigphoto.co.uk  Go to Schools and the password is Bethany.  Photos can also be ordered from this website.

The day started with the usual mixture of stalls around the campus as the well as the infamous champagne breakfast for leavers and their families in The Orchard.  The Leavers' Service in the Chapel, at which Mr Dorey was this year's guest speaker was followed by lunch before everyone assembled in the Sports Hall for the speeches and prize giving.

During the afternoon, The Bethanians' Society held its AGM and its members joined the rest of the School for tea, where they too made a presentation to Mr Dorey.  A large group of former pupils who were at Bethany in 1980 had gathered from all the over the UK (and even overseas) and we were delighted that they were with us for the day too.
