Ice skating at the Rockefeller Centre

Over Easter Mrs Kirk along with Miss King, Miss Shirley and Mr and Mrs Schooledge took 19 Theatre Studies and Art students from the Sixth Form on a five day trip to New York.

The drama students attended private workshops at the Lincoln Centre with professional actors and directors, as well as taking tours of ballet, opera and drama theatres. All were astonished by the history, beauty and detail that each possessed while the art students visited some of the world famous galleries, viewing an extensive range of artwork from around the world.

They found time to visit most of New York's tourist attractions including the Empire State Building, the Stature of Liberty, 5^th Avenue, the Rockefeller Centre, where they are pictured ice-skating, and also took in two Broadway shows.

The trip was a resounding success and the staff involved were very proud of all the students and the hard work they put into the workshops and various educational activities. The students were frequently complimented by workshop leaders who were impressed by their creativity, ability and aptitude. They certainly made the most of their short visit and although at times exhausted, never let this get in the way of experiencing New York. Mrs Kirk would like to thank all involved for making it a great experience and looks forward to repeating the trip in the future.
