About Bethany School : Curriculum
Mathematics

Mathematics at Bethany

At Bethany we use a concentrated two year course to work through the national curriculum for KS3.  Our KS4 course runs over three years giving students more time to study the curriculum and to prepare for this vital GCSE.  More able students also have the opportunity to study a Statistics GCSE in year 11.

Maths Days

Maths Days enable pupils to work in small groups on problem solving exercises from puzzles, sequencing exercises and logic games.

Gifted and Talented

Pupils are invited to join the High Flyers group during activities.  This allows them an opportunity to explore the wider applications of mathematics.  Enrichment topics and activities are approached in a more relaxed environment.

Maths Clinics

Clinics are held four times a week at lunch time between 12.45 and 13.15.  These enable any student who might need support with home work, a test or revision to gain individual help.

Maths Challenge

Up to 100 pupils a year are entered into the Junior and Intermediate Maths Challenge.  This national competition run by Leeds University gives our students the opportunity to compete against students all over the UK.
