At Bethany we believe the challenge in academic life is for each student to achieve their potential in all of their subjects, to flourish in areas where they have a particular talent and to enjoy the learning process.
The curriculum in the first three years is impressively broad and the very wide range of GCSE and A level options, including vocational qualifications, build on this broad base.
The Junior Curriculum
A wide range of subjects gives students the opportunity to develop their talents and study a broad and balanced curriculum. The breadth of the curriculum also enables them to make an informed choice of subjects when starting GCSE Courses in Year 10. In the Junior School, students are broadly streamed in forms for most subjects but are set by ability in English and Mathematics from Year 7 and in Science from Year 8. Class and set sizes rarely exceed 17 students. A comprehensive list of activities is available for all students between 4.00 and 5.00 pm.

In Year 10 students are awarded a GCSE in the Core Science Course and in Year 11 they have a choice of studying Additional Science, which allows continuation of study to A level Science, or Applied Science.
The top two English sets also take English Literature.
