Entrance Tests are held each November for Year 7 entry the following September and in January for entry into Year 9 in September the same year. In the event that a student is unable to attend on the Entrance Test date we can arrange for the tests to be taken individually at the School. For students who live a long distance away or abroad it is usually possible for us to arrange for their current school or a local agent to administer the tests on our behalf.

 

There are five elements to the Bethany Entrance Tests:

• Non-verbal reasoning
• Key-Stage Mathematics
• Reading comprehension
• Spellings
• Free writing

The tests are designed to look at the overall ability and skills of each student. They are not based on any specific knowledge or curriculum base so as not to disadvantage students, whatever their educational background.

Please note that we do not provide sample papers.

Entry for September 2009

Year 7 entry - our Entrance Exams for Year 7 entry have now taken place.  However, please contact Mrs Donelan, our Registrar, who will be pleased to arrange a date for your child to sit the assessments on an individual basis.

Year 9 entry – Saturday, 24th January 2009
Scholarship assessments will take place during the week commencing 26th January
