About Bethany School : Welcome
Welcome from the Headmaster

"Caring", "supportive" and "friendly atmosphere" are the words our parents most use to describe Bethany.  We constantly strive to share happiness among our students because happiness is the key to success.  Happy people achieve more; they work better and grow in confidence and self-esteem.  Bethany is a community at every level within which your son or daughter will be inspired to fulfil their potential.

Bethany is a strong, thriving school set in a beautiful 60 acre site in the heart of the Weald of Kent.  Recent years have seen an enviable building programme and boarding and day numbers are flourishing, so much so that this summer we have found it necessary to build additional Sixth Form boarding accommodation.

We are justifiably proud of our examination results.  Over 94% of our Sixth Form leavers progress on to university courses, entering the adult world as confident, caring, self assured and well rounded citizens.  Although our students consistently outperform their "value added" potential, Bethany is much more than a school with enviable exam results.  There is an outstanding choice of extracurricular activities, incorporated within the school day, to give your son or daughter a broad, balanced and fulfilling experience.  Their talents will be identified, nurtured and publicly praised at every opportunity as we help them to strive for their own level of excellence in everything they do.

My own three children are at Bethany for precisely these reasons and I want all students to benefit from the same opportunities and from the wonderful nurturing care of the staff here.

Please take a few moments to browse through our website.  I hope you will pick up on the very special atmosphere at Bethany and that you will want to visit us to see a happy, caring and successful school in action.

Our Mission
At Bethany we are committed to giving young people an education which will equip them for life in a changing world, set within the firm foundations of a Christian community.

Our Aims
Within the context of the School's Mission Statement the School aims are:

Our History and Development

Bethany School was founded by The Reverend Joseph Kendon in 1866.  He was a man of great vision and faith who intended Bethany to be a community where each student would be treated as an individual and encouraged to reach their true potential in all areas of life.

Today, the School is still true to its roots and gives a high standard of personal care and encouragement to all students within the setting of a Christian community.
