About Bethany School : Welcome
Welcome from the Headmaster

As parents I know that you will be keen for your son or daughter to secure their full potential in terms of academic results.  Bethany has an excellent track record in this respect.  In addition, I am sure that you will be looking for a school which offers an exciting and varied programme of extra-curricular activities.  Yet again, Bethany has an enviable reputation in this area.  However, we believe that these goals can only be achieved when students are given the opportunity to play to their strengths, rather than being forced into a mould.

At Bethany, whilst your son or daughter would be encouraged and supported, we still teach the importance of participating fully in a community.  Most of all, we want your child to be happy, because happy students are confident and successful.  School should be enjoyed rather than endured.  It is the atmosphere of positive nurturing and encouragement which makes Bethany "refreshingly different".

Bethany is a strong, thriving school set in a beautiful 60 acre site in the heart of the Weald of Kent.  Recent years have seen an enviable building programme and boarding and day numbers are flourishing.  However, the Governors are committed to maintaining the benefits which stem from being a relatively small independent school.

As you browse through our website, I hope you will start to capture the very special atmosphere of Bethany School and that you will want to come and see for yourself the exciting and unique opportunities we offer.

Our Mission
At Bethany we are committed to giving young people an education which will equip them for life in a changing world, set within the firm foundations of a Christian community.

Our History and Development

Bethany School was founded by The Reverend Joseph Kendon in 1866.  He was a man of great vision and faith who intended Bethany to be a community where each student would be treated as an individual and encouraged to reach their true potential in all areas of life.

Today, the School is still true to its roots and gives a high standard of personal care and encouragement to all students within the setting of a Christian community.
