The Society was saddened to learn that Christian Lanzer, Headmaster at Bethany from 1970-88, passed away on Thursday, 14th January 2010, aged 85. Christian, who some of you will have enjoyed seeing at last year's Reunion Day or at the Annual Dinner, had recently become too frail to live on his own and had moved into a care home in Wimbledon to be near his extended family.
A Thanksgiving Service will take place on Thursday, 4th February at 1.30 pm at Emmanuel Church, 24 Ridgway, Wimbledon Village, SW19 4QL. Family flowers only but donations, if desired, to Alzheimer's Society, c/o Frederick Paine, 6 Coombe Lane, SW20 8ND, tel: 020 8946 1974.
